COVID-19 has had a disastrous effect on communities across the globe, here at home in South Africa, our government implemented one of the most stringent methods of lockdown in the world as a preventative measure
While the lockdown has assisted in slowing down the number of infections, it has also harmed people’s livelihoods. With so many people unable to earn a living, there has been a spike in communities struggling to put food on the table.
The government, civil society and philanthropic organisations have stepped up to try and mitigate the number of people who are without food. And while these efforts are appreciated, more efforts are required to assist those in destitution.
Fighting Hunger
Since the start of lockdown we have distributed just over a thousand food parcels to the needy communities in Braamfontein and impacted over 3000 lives

One Moment Foundation is dedicated to fighting the looming hunger and restoring dignity to the most vulnerable communities. But we cannot do it alone. Our funds are fast approaching a depletion point and without further donations, we will not be able to continue with the work we had started. Through separate initiatives, we have been able to assist communities by raising funds and distributing 1,700 dignity sanitation packs to different well established and temporal homeless shelters in and around Johannesburg CBD. Since the start of lockdown we have distributed just over a thousand food parcels to the needy communities in Braamfontein and impacted over 3000 lives.
